Dungeon Quest Reborn Shift Lock: Enable It on PC & Mobile

Shift lock keeps your character facing the camera direction and lets you strafe, which is the difference between dodging an Ice Elemental fissure and eating it. Dungeon Quest Reborn uses Roblox's built-in shift lock rather than its own, so enabling it is a Roblox setting, not a game setting.
Enable shift lock on PC
- Open the Roblox menu with Esc.
- Go to Settings.
- Set Shift Lock Switch to On.
- Back in the game, press Shift to toggle lock on and off. A small padlock icon appears next to your character when it is active.
If the option is greyed out or missing, the experience has disabled it — that is not the case in DQR, so restart the client if you see this.
Enable shift lock on mobile
Mobile has no Shift key, so DQR shows an on-screen shift lock button. Tap it to lock; tap again to unlock. Some players report the button being hard to hit during boss fights; moving your camera-control thumb off the screen before tapping helps.
Shift lock button stuck or won't toggle
The most common complaint is on desktop: after clicking the on-screen button (the mobile-style one that also appears on PC), Shift stops toggling and you are stuck in lock. Fix:
- Press Esc → Settings → toggle Shift Lock Switch Off, then On again.
- If that fails, reset your character or rejoin the server.
- Use the keyboard Shift key rather than the on-screen button on PC to avoid triggering the bug in the first place.
Why it matters in DQR specifically
Most boss attacks in Dungeon Quest Reborn are ground indicators (fissures, squares, expanding rings) that you dodge by sidestepping. With shift lock on you can strafe around the boss while keeping your abilities aimed at it; without it, turning to move also turns your aim.
