Dungeon Quest Reborn Crates: Gem Costs & Odds by Tier
Updated 2026-09-09 · Last verified 2026-09-09 · Roblox Dungeon Quest Reborn
Crates in Dungeon Quest Reborn are the containers you buy with gems to get cosmetics, and there are exactly three of them: the Rare crate at 5,000 gems, the Epic crate at 7,500 and the Legendary crate at 10,000. Each open returns one cosmetic, with the rarity rolled against that crate's own odds table, and crates are the main way cosmetics enter your account because cosmetics do not drop from dungeons.
The three crates and their odds
| Crate | Price | Uncommon | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rare crate | 5,000 gems | 70% | 30% | 0% | 0% |
| Epic crate | 7,500 gems | 50% | 35% | 15% | 0% |
| Legendary crate | 10,000 gems | 0% | 50% | 35% | 15% |
Every row adds to 100%, so each open always returns a cosmetic. There is no empty result and no pity counter documented anywhere in the sources this wiki uses.
Two features of that table decide everything else on this page:
- Only the Legendary crate can roll a Legendary, and only on a 15% chance. The Epic crate stops at Epic no matter how many you open, and the Rare crate stops at Rare.
- Only the Legendary crate has no Uncommon outcome. Its floor is Rare, which means it is the one crate where a bad roll still gives you something you might wear.
What each tier can contain
Rare crate (5,000 gems). Two possible outcomes, Uncommon and Rare, weighted 70/30 towards Uncommon. It is the cheapest entry point and the only crate a low-gem player can realistically open repeatedly, but seven opens in ten return the lowest rarity in the game.
Epic crate (7,500 gems). Three outcomes. The Uncommon share drops from 70% to 50%, Rare climbs slightly to 35%, and Epic appears for the first time at 15%. This is the cheapest crate that can produce an Epic cosmetic, and it is the only crate where an Epic is the ceiling.
Legendary crate (10,000 gems). Three outcomes again, but the whole table shifts up a tier: Rare 50%, Epic 35%, Legendary 15%. Half of all opens land on Rare, a third on Epic, and roughly one in seven on Legendary.
Which crate is actually best value
Because the tiers overlap, the useful comparison is not the sticker price but the average gems spent per result you care about. The figures below are simply the price divided by the relevant probability.
| Result you want | Rare crate | Epic crate | Legendary crate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anything Rare or better | ~16,700 gems | ~15,000 gems | 10,000 gems |
| Anything Epic or better | Not possible | ~50,000 gems | ~20,000 gems |
| A Legendary | Not possible | Not possible | ~67,000 gems |
| Chance of an Uncommon | 70% | 50% | 0% |
The Legendary crate wins every row it competes in. It costs double the Rare crate per open, yet it produces a Rare or better for 10,000 gems flat against the Rare crate's average of about 16,700, and it reaches an Epic for less than half of what the Epic crate needs. This matches what the cosmetics page already concludes: on a gems-per-quality basis the Legendary crate is the best value even if you are not chasing Legendaries.
The practical caveat is the entry cost. If you have 5,000 gems you cannot open a Legendary crate at all, and saving to 10,000 means opening nothing in the meantime.
How many crates for a Legendary cosmetic
The Legendary roll is 15% and each open is independent, so there is no accumulating progress towards a guarantee. The average of about 6.7 crates, roughly 67,000 gems, is exactly that: an average.
| Legendary crates opened | Gems spent | Chance of at least one Legendary |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10,000 | 15.0% |
| 5 | 50,000 | 55.6% |
| 10 | 100,000 | 80.3% |
| 15 | 150,000 | 91.3% |
| 20 | 200,000 | 96.1% |
Read the bottom row carefully. Even after twenty opens and 200,000 gems, roughly one player in twenty-five still has no Legendary cosmetic. Nothing in the system protects against that, so treat the 67,000 gem figure as a planning number rather than a price tag.
Where gems come from
Gems are a separate currency from gold. That distinction matters, because almost every economic system in this game is documented in gold: gamepasses are bought with gold from the Shop tab, XP boosts are bought with gold, dungeon clears and Wave Defence milestones and Boss Raids and daily rewards all pay gold, and selling gear you do not equip returns gold. The VIP and gamepasses page covers that side of the economy in full.
What none of the sources cited on this page document is where gems themselves are earned. The community wiki's crates entry states only that crates are bought with gems and lists the prices. Two things can be ruled out rather than guessed at:
- Codes are not a gem source. Dungeon Quest Reborn has no codes and no redeem menu, and never has had either.
- The x2 Gold gamepass does not affect gems. It doubles gold from dungeon clears, Wave Defence milestones, Boss Raids and daily rewards, and does not double gold from selling items. Gems are outside its scope entirely.
Anything beyond that would be invention, so this page leaves the question open and will be updated when a source documents it.
Are crates the only way to get cosmetics?
Almost, but not quite. The VIP gamepass unlocks its own set of VIP cosmetics alongside its permanent 20% XP boost, and it is bought with gold rather than gems. Because gamepass prices scale with your level and jump every ten levels, from 67K gold at level 0 to 1.6 billion at level 110, the VIP cosmetics are dramatically cheaper if you buy in early. That makes VIP the one cosmetic source that rewards acting before you have any currency to spare.
Outside crates and VIP, cosmetics have no documented source. They are not part of any dungeon loot table, which is the single most common misconception about them: every Legendary and Ultimate that drops from a dungeon is a real weapon with stats, not a skin. The drops page lists those by dungeon.
What crates do not contain
- No weapons or armour with stats. Cosmetics are purely visual, covering weapon skins and character effects. A crate cannot improve your damage.
- No gold, gems or gamepasses. Crates return one cosmetic and nothing else.
- No dungeon-specific loot. Set families belong to their dungeons and stay there.
If you are level-gated and looking for power, crates are the wrong system entirely; the beginner guide covers what actually moves you forward early on.
Not yet documented
- Gem sources. No cited source states how gems are earned.
- The item-by-item contents of each crate. The community catalogue of individual cosmetics is still incomplete for Reborn, so no source says which named cosmetic sits in which crate, or whether any cosmetic is exclusive to a single tier.
- Whether duplicates are possible, and whether anything happens when you roll one.
These will be filled in as they are confirmed, not before.

Frequently asked questions
What do crates give you in Dungeon Quest Reborn?
Cosmetics, and only cosmetics. Crates are bought with gems from the shop and each open returns one cosmetic whose rarity is rolled against that crate's table. Cosmetics in this game are purely visual, covering weapon skins and character effects, so a crate open cannot give you a weapon with stats, an armour piece or gold. Weapons and sets come from dungeon clears instead.
Which crate is the best value in Dungeon Quest Reborn?
The Legendary crate at 10,000 gems, on every measure. It is the only crate with no Uncommon outcome, so its floor is Rare and every single open returns something Rare or better for a flat 10,000 gems. The Rare crate needs about 16,700 gems on average to produce one Rare or better, and the Epic crate about 15,000, so the cheapest crate is not the cheapest result.
How many Legendary crates do you need to get a Legendary cosmetic?
About 6.7 on average, or roughly 67,000 gems, because the Legendary roll sits at 15%. That is an average and not a guarantee: five opens leave you at a 55.6% chance of having seen at least one, ten opens at 80.3% and twenty at 96.1%. Budget the gems before you start rather than part-way through a streak of Rares.
Can you get weapons from Dungeon Quest Reborn crates?
No. The community wiki records crates as granting cosmetics, and cosmetics do not affect combat power. A weapon skin from a crate changes how your weapon looks, not what it does. Every Legendary and Ultimate weapon in the game drops from a dungeon clear, a Wave Defence milestone or a Boss Raid instead, and the full list by dungeon is on the drops page.
Where do you get gems in Dungeon Quest Reborn?
Gems are a separate currency from gold, and the sources this wiki cites state only that crates are bought with them; they do not document where gems themselves come from. What can be ruled out is codes, since the game has none and has no redeem menu at all, and the gold systems, since dungeon rewards, Wave Defence, Boss Raids, daily rewards and item sales are all documented as gold.
Is there a list of everything in the Dungeon Quest Reborn crates?
Not a reliable one. The community-maintained catalogue of individual cosmetics is still incomplete for Reborn, so no source documents which named cosmetics sit in which crate, or whether any given cosmetic is exclusive to one tier. This page tracks the crate system and its odds instead, and named items will be added as they are documented rather than guessed at.
