Dungeon Quest Reborn Gems: How to Get Them & What For

Updated 2026-09-09 · Last verified 2026-09-09 · Roblox Dungeon Quest Reborn

Gems are Dungeon Quest Reborn's second currency, kept entirely separate from gold, and they are spent on exactly one thing: crates, at 5,000 gems for the Rare crate, 7,500 for the Epic and 10,000 for the Legendary. On the earning side there is an honest gap to report up front: no source this wiki cites documents where gems actually come from, and none gives a gems-per-run or gems-per-dungeon rate.

That gap is worth stating plainly rather than filling with a guess. What the sources do let you do is rule things out, and the list of things ruled out is long enough to be useful on its own.

Gems versus gold

These are two currencies with no documented conversion between them. Gold is the currency the entire progression economy runs on, and gems are the cosmetic currency. Billions of gold do not buy you one gem.

Typical amounts~26M per Ghastly Harbor Insane run, ~300M per Enchanted Forest Insane runCrates cost 5,000 to 10,000

The gold figures come from the drops page, which documents gold per run for the two dungeons a source actually covers. There is no equivalent table for gems because there is no equivalent data.

Every reward system, and which currency it pays

This is the clearest way to see the gap. Every reward mechanism documented for this game is written up in gold.

SystemWhat it givesGems?
Dungeon clearGold plus item dropsNo, gold
Wave Defence milestoneLoot every 15 waves, titles at waves 30 / 45 / 100 / 300No, loot and titles
Boss RaidsGold plus item drops, six Legendaries in the poolNo, gold
Daily rewardsGoldNo, gold
Selling gear you do not equipGold, and not doubled by x2 GoldNo, gold
CodesNothing, the game has noneNo, none exist
x2 Gold gamepassDoubles dungeon, Wave Defence, Boss Raid and daily goldNo, gold only

VIP gamepassVIP cosmetics and a permanent 20% XP boostNo, cosmetics and XP
XP boosts+100% XP for 1, 2 or 4 hours, bought with goldNo, XP

Nothing in that table pays gems. Either gems come from a system nobody has written up yet, or from a purchase route the sources do not describe. This page will say which as soon as a source says it.

What gems are spent on

Crates, in full. Each open returns one cosmetic, rolled against that crate's own odds table, and there is no empty result and no pity counter documented.

Rare crate5,000 gems70%30%0%0%
Epic crate7,500 gems50%35%15%0%
Legendary crate10,000 gems0%50%35%15%

The full value analysis lives on the crates page and is not repeated here, but the headline is that the cheapest crate is not the cheapest result. The Legendary crate returns something Rare or better for a flat 10,000 gems, while the Rare crate needs about 16,700 gems on average to manage the same thing. A single Legendary cosmetic averages about 6.7 Legendary crates, roughly 67,000 gems.

Since the only thing gems buy is cosmetics, and cosmetics are purely visual, gems cannot make your character stronger. Weapons, armour sets, Legendaries and Ultimates all come from dungeon clears instead.

What is ruled out as a gem source

  • Codes. The game has no codes and no redeem menu, and never has had either. This is the single most common wrong answer to the question.
  • The x2 Gold gamepass. It doubles gold from dungeon clears, Wave Defence milestones, Boss Raids and daily rewards, and does not even double the gold from selling items. It has no effect on gems.
  • Selling gear. Documented as returning gold.
  • Any gold purchase. Gamepasses, XP boosts and skill resets are all priced in gold and none of them returns gems. The VIP page covers that side of the economy, including why gamepass prices jump from 67K gold at level 0 to 1.6 billion at level 110.
  • Dungeon farming at a known rate. Runs may or may not pay gems; what is certain is that no source states a rate, so "farm dungeon X for Y gems per run" is not something this wiki can tell you.

A note on conflicting pages

The cosmetics page currently points at the codes page as the place that explains where gold and gems come from. That is accurate for gold and not for gems: the codes page documents gold income only, and the crates page states outright that no cited source records a gem source. Where this wiki's pages disagree, treat the crates page and this one as correct: gem income is undocumented.

Not yet documented

  • Any gem income source at all, including whether gems drop from dungeons, accrue from dailies, or are bought with Robux.
  • A gems-per-run or gems-per-dungeon rate. No figure exists to quote.
  • Whether gems and gold can be exchanged in either direction.
  • Any gem sink other than crates.

These will be added when a source documents them, not before.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get gems in Dungeon Quest Reborn?

No source this wiki cites documents a gem income source. The community wiki's crates entry states only that crates are bought with gems and lists their prices, and every other reward in the game is written up in gold rather than gems. That is an honest gap rather than a secret method: anyone quoting a gems-per-run figure for a dungeon is quoting something no documentation supports.

Are gems the same as gold in Dungeon Quest Reborn?

No, they are two separate currencies with no documented exchange between them. Gold buys gamepasses and XP boosts from the Shop tab and comes from dungeon clears, Wave Defence milestones, Boss Raids, daily rewards and selling gear. Gems buy crates and nothing else. Having billions of gold does not give you a single gem.

What are gems used for in Dungeon Quest Reborn?

Crates, and only crates. The Rare crate costs 5,000 gems, the Epic crate 7,500 and the Legendary crate 10,000, and each open returns one cosmetic rolled against that crate's odds. No other gem cost is documented anywhere: gamepasses, XP boosts and skill resets are all priced in gold.

Can you get gems from codes in Dungeon Quest Reborn?

No. Dungeon Quest Reborn has no codes and no redeem menu, and never has had either, so codes cannot be a gem source. Any site listing codes that grant gems for this game is either confusing it with a different Roblox title or inventing them.

Does the x2 Gold gamepass double gems?

No. The x2 Gold gamepass doubles the gold reward from dungeon clears, Wave Defence milestones, Boss Raids and daily rewards, and it does not even double the gold from selling items. Gems sit outside its scope entirely, and no gem multiplier of any kind is documented in the game.

How many gems do you need for a Legendary cosmetic?

Roughly 67,000 on average. Only the Legendary crate can roll a Legendary cosmetic, at 10,000 gems per open and a 15% chance, which averages out to about 6.7 opens. It is an average and not a guarantee, so twenty opens and 200,000 gems still leave about one player in twenty-five empty-handed.
